Where Pokémon GS Vitro runs

Pokémon GS Vitro is a Windows executable made in RPG Maker XP. Android uses Kirin or NaviaXP. iPhone and Mac use Empo. Switch, Steam, a game APK, and a GBA ROM are not part of the release.

Platform matrix

A yes means a documented way to launch the Windows build. A no means I found no release on that store or format.

PlatformStatusHow

APK of the gameNoThe players are APKs. The game is not
GBA / ROMNoNot a ROM hack
BrowserNoNo web build
Kirin’s minimum Android version is not stated. NaviaXP states Android 6.0 or newer. I did not copy one number onto the other.

Why people expect an APK

Kirin and NaviaXP are themselves Android packages, so a search for “APK” finds the player. The game folder is still the Windows project. Kirin asks for storage permission on first launch so it can see that folder. NaviaXP’s notes say Android 6.0 or newer and do not include the game.

Empo’s readme covers RPG Maker XP through MZ, Essentials, and PSDK. It is a pre-release, installed with AltStore, SideStore, or Sideloadly. Closing the app is how you switch games on a phone.

Questions

Does Joiplay run it?

The developer FAQ says Joiplay is outdated and incompatible.

Is Kirin a Windows emulator?

Kirin’s own article says it is not Windows emulation. It is an mkxp-z runtime. The FAQ still calls the players emulators in passing.

Can I play in a browser?

No browser build is published. The archive is a 362.57 MB Windows project.

Troubleshooting

Storage permission, Joiplay crashes, and Empo’s one-game rule.
